Our high-quality Vortex (IVG) cooling water solution makes it easy for you, as a water consumer, to cool 100% chemical-free and circularly.

Cooling water treatment

Industrial Vortex Generator

To prevent microbiological growth, scaling and corrosion, cooling tower water requires effective treatment. Within the Industrial Vortex Generator, based on hydrodynamic cavitation, three processes take place simultaneously: controlled crystallisation of minerals, removal of unbound gases such as micro and nano bubbles, and the reduction of microbiological activity by damaging cell walls.Dissolved calcium is converted into calcium carbonate in stable calcite and aragonite crystal forms. The cavitation forces create crystals that remain suspended in the water and do not adhere to pipes, heat exchangers or other surfaces. In addition, the IVG reduces water viscosity by 12 to 20 percent and improves heat transfer by 3 to 5 percent, supporting efficient and reliable cooling performance.

Spinning Disc Filtration

With Spinning Disk Filtration, cooling water is continuously filtered in a dedicated recirculation loop. The SDF removes solid particles of 10 microns and larger, keeping the concentration of suspended matter in the system under control. Thanks to rapid rotational movements, the filter is self cleaning and backwashes without additional water consumption. This improves the performance of the downstream UV C reactor and reduces the risk of microbiological growth. As a result, materials and pumps last longer, while sedimentation and blockages in piping and heat exchangers are effectively prevented.

Ultra Violet Type-C Radiation

Wherever water is present, biofilm can develop. Fungi, yeasts and bacteria living within these biofilms pose a risk to health, safety and operational continuity.UV C is invisible radiation with a wavelength between 100 and 280 nanometres. Radiation within this range disrupts the DNA of micro organisms, rendering them harmless and unable to reproduce. At Pathema, UV C is applied as a chem free disinfection step to control microbiological growth and reduce the risk of biofilm formation. This approach improves water quality, lowers the risk of blockages and keeps installations cleaner and more stable in operation. UV C therefore supports a reliable cooling water process with less maintenance and reduced reliance on biocides.

PAthema DESinfect

Pathema has developed the PADES system, short for Pathema Disinfect and partial electrolysis, specifically for industrial applications. PADES disinfects water by means of electrolysis, without the addition of chemicals.Using the naturally present sodium chloride, common salt, the system generates free chlorine through electrolysis. Because this chlorine is produced locally and on demand, it is highly effective as a disinfectant. This keeps piping, heat exchangers and cooling basins free from contamination such as bacteria and biofilm.Once the chlorine has completed its disinfecting action, it reverts back to dissolved salt and oxygen and is discharged with the blowdown.
